Am I quitting blogging?- Fleur of the City

Hey there! What’s up? How’s it going? It’s been awhile. Today I am sharing where I have been, last month it was traveling and when I got back I told myself I’d get back to the routine with you guys…..but sometimes life takes over and when blogging is something you fit in to your life in the wee hours of the morning, or late at night, it can get put on the back burner. So am I quitting blogging?

No! Are you crazy, this is something I will always continue to do, it’s a relationship I will never give up because it’s how I connect with you, my readers. It’s also my creative outlet, which I need. Life has swept me up and kept me busy. I had a family member get surgery, I started a new job, and am currently pursuing my real estate license because its something I have been wanting to do for about 6 months now. Although excuses shouldn’t be made for my absence, it’s what I have been up to. Sometimes balancing life can get difficult, but I wanted to let you know I am still here and will continue to be. We are fast approaching my favorite season, FALL! I love everything about fall…. I have Gilmore Girls on repeat while I pick out my favorite hats and scarves.

Then Vs. Now – Fleur of the City

Good Morning everyone! I am writing to you before I leave for work for the day and over the weekend I came up with this new idea! I have been blogging for almost two years now, I started this website while I was finishing college and started blogging as my senior project. Over the years I have learned sooooooo much about the blogging world, but I also learned about my personal style and dressing my body type.

If you look at the picture in the top left corner, it’s such a cute outfit right?! I love it…however it is not flattering on my body type, you can’t really see my waistline or where my curves come out. If you look at the bottom right picture, I chose a simple, denim, body con dress. This shows the tiniest part of my waist, as well as my curviest attributes which I do like to show! Nowadays, I stay away from prints on my clothing, because I usually find that the next season I no longer like it. I keep my clothing pretty neutral and allow myself to show my style through shoes, jackets, and bags. It not only is a more minimalistic approach, but I have chosen things that best flatter my body type. If you are curvy like myself, I hope these little tips help! Thanks for stopping by FOTC today!

For now, here is a look I wore in Toronto. The weather was beautiful and this flowy Target dress was perfect for walking around town shopping! I love how you can transition it into fall too!

Denim BodyCon Dress- Fleur of the City

Toronto- style

Hey there! I am currently writing to you from Cape May, NJ. This month has been absolute craziness and I won’t lie, as much fun as it’s been, I am looking forward to August being a bit calmer. I traveled to Toronto, Atlanta, and New Jersey within three weeks. In between that I was searching for a new job! Keeping up with the blog definitely gets difficult in times like those…but I am back! I love that you guys can travel and come along with me wherever I go!

The beach has been amazing, I get to spend time with some of my family from Atlanta. The house is loud, chaotic, and filled with lots of love & laughter! If you want to see some of it, follow me on {Snapchat: fleurofthecity}.

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you’ll see that not only I have changed but so has my style….I find that since I gained the weight I did from my journey last year….curve hugging dresses like this denim one are my favorite, it shows every curve, edge, angle, that I am proud of! Own what you’ve been given. See you Wednesday for some beauty talk!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale- Fleur of the City

1. Topshop Leather Jacket

2. Halogen Boots

3. Veda Jacket

4. Camo Jacket

5. MCM Backpack

6. Rebecca Minkoff Bag

7. Nikes Tennis Shoes

8. Stuart Weitzman Booties

9. Cupcakes & Cashmere Leather Jacket

It’s finally here! The Nordstrom Anniversary Early Access Sale has launched! It seems like this year people are going way more nuts over it, especially bloggers, but I can’t blame anyone for it because it’s such an amazing time to stock up on any items you might need. I use this sale to purchase mainly jackets, sweaters, bags and shoes. I stay away from tops and bottoms because again, I keep it pretty basic. But I love a good jacket or sweater to complete a look! There were a couple items I scored that are no longer available {some stuff goes like wildfire}, my IRO olive leather jacket is probably my favorite purchase so far. I have some of my favorite items I either purchased or admired linked above!

This morning is a bit of a tough one. The weather is gloomy, it’s Monday, and I flew in yesterday evening from Atlanta. Quick background, all of my family is originally from Pittsburgh, but overtime a lot of them moved to Atlanta. I am the youngest out of ALL of my cousins, so because they are all married with kids, I have 19 2nd cousins. Yes, quite a large family, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love them all so much! My family and I went down to visit because my very first second cousin has just graduated high school, and now going on to college….I officially feel old. It was so great to visit with all of them though. It’s also really cool seeing my Grandma be with all her great grandkids!

I’ll be headed on a quick road trip this week to visit my boyfriend and his family, then I will be leaving again for my third and final trip for July. I am super excited to head to the beach, its my favorite spot ever for family vacation! Make sure you follow along on {SC: fleurofthecity} so you can see where I am headed! See you Wednesday!

DonaJo Fitwear- Fleur of the City

leggings: donajo fitwear

top: h&m

jacket: similar here, here

shoes: ego official (currently not in stock)

bag: valentino

sunglasses: rayban clubmaster

Happy Thursday! I know this week I posted on two different days, but with the craziness of traveling I am mixing it up a bit! I wore this outfit when I traveled to Toronto last week, its simple, comfortable, chic and practical for traveling. DonaJo is a Pittsburgh based brand. Ashley, the owner, and I used to swim with back in the day in high school. It’s been amazing watching her business grow and I have been a JoJo from day one!

On another note, I was super proud of myself for flying to Toronto this weekend. My anxiety can get the best of me sometimes, but we have to face our fears and live life. Don’t let anything hold you back, not even anxiety or panic if that is something that might be holding you back. I find that listening to audiobooks helps! I love listening to all kinds but mostly motivational. Currently I am listening to Joyce Meyers, I love a lot of her work. I talked about it in a quote here.

Thanks for stopping by! See you Monday! Be sure to follow my traveling adventures on {Snapchat: fleurofthecity}.

Inner- Beauty Inspo

estee quote

The other day I realized I didn’t share something with you that I share on my Instagram…awhile ago I decided that I wanted to turn an extremely hard year into ways of inspiring and motivating my readers. Last year I struggled with health, confidence, weight gain, heartbreak, career changes, and so much more. I wanted to take my darkest days and share how I got through them, so a few months ago I started sharing some of my own messages and favorite quotes on my Instagram. I want to bring out on my path of finding your inner beauty. Each and every one of you are beautiful in your own way. I want you to all know how special you are, and that what you have to offer is precious. So here are some quotes that I have recently shared, if you click on each one it will take you to the message I shared with it on Instagram. Yesterday I was traveling home from Toronto and then immediately left to take a road trip to see bae. I will be leaving again on Friday for my next trip as well, so make sure you follow me on {SnapChat: fleurofthecity}

june favorites

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

Here are a few of my makeup & beauty favorites for the month of June! I cannot get enough of this Becca Primer and even got two of my friends hooked on it too! As for House of Lashes, I am hooked on all of their products. I love their Temptress Lashes, and the lash glue is the best I have ever tried. It totally blows DUO lash glue out of the water, and it smells like roses! All the links are above for these products! Keep reading on if you want to hear about my little mini vacation I just took!

The past week has been absolutely amazing! I spent a few days in Bedford, PA visiting my boyfriend, yes boyfriend! If you don’t follow me on Snapchat I might have hinted at it a bit. Bedford is the cutest little town, pretty much a duplicate for Stars Hollow (for all my GG lovers out there). Then I headed back to PGH to see the Weezer concert, then immediately after that Matthew and I went to Nemocolin Woodlands Resort for the Fourth of July! If you live in PA, they have the most beautiful fireworks display. This is why I love summer, I love taking little mini trips to places, enjoying the sunshine and going to concerts! I hope you all had an amazing holiday weekend! I have a bunch of other trips I am taking this month so be sure to follow me on {SnapChat: FLEUROFTHECITY}. Xo

This body con dress I got at Ross Dress For Less for about $14 bucks. I know they aren’t everywhere so Ive linked a few other similar dresses.
